• Dr Sameer Sawant ( MBBS,MS, DNB, FVRS) is an experienced Vitreo Retina Surgeon , specializing in diagnosis and treatment of complex retinal diseases like Retinal Detachments and Diabetic Retinopathy. He has an experience that spans more than 5000 Retinal Surgeries and Laser Procedures.

Dr Sameer Sawant Passed the course of MS Ophthalmology from M.R.Medical College, Gulbarga, Karnataka under Rajiv Gandhi University Of Health Sciences, Bangalore in November 2004.Secured 6th rank in the state. Cleared the exam of Diplomate Of National Board (DNB), New Delhi in 2005.Ccompleted the Basic Course in Ophthalmic Diagnostics at LVPEI – Zeiss Academy for Advanced Ophthalmic Education, at L.V. Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad, India in April 2004 .Worked as Resident Doctor in K.B.H.B Eye Hospital ,Parel,Mumbai in 2005-06 where he performed more than 500 ophthalmic surgeries. Joined for Vireo-Retinal fellowship at Shri Ganapati Netralaya, Jalna, Maharashtra in April 2006. Shri Ganapati Netralaya is a multi - specialty eye Institute, technologically well-equipped clinical center designed along the lines of finest eye hospitals in the world. He underwent riguorous training as a vitreo retinal surgeon under the able guidance of nationaly reputed surgeons.  He has special interests in treatment of Diabetic Retinopathy and Retinal Detachments .

Humanitarian Services

• Rendered voluntary services and performed multiple eye surgeries aboard The Lifeline Express, promoted by UNDP, UNICEF and WHO in association with of government of India in May-June 2005
• Participated in the disability reduction project under Impact India Foundation.
• Actively participated and managed numerous Ophthalmic Diagnostic and Surgical Camps in Maharashtra and Karnataka
• Rendered voluntary services along with the India Air Force during the Bhuj earth quake in 2002

Hobbies

Dr Sawant regularly participates in 21 kilometres half marathons and is an avid photographer 

• Dr Priya Sawant (MBBS, DOMS,FGO ) is an accomplished Cataract and Glaucoma Surgeon. She is well versed in Stichless Cataract Surgery ( Phacoemulsification ) with Foldable Lens Implantation performed on the latest Orteli Phaco Machine ( Switzerland) suitable for the most complex cataract cases.
